The history of Hydranor

Founded back in 1962 in Kongsberg, AS Hydranor is a Norwegian manufacturer of hydraulic valve components and valve units specially designed for marine applications. Hydranor products are well known for their excellent operational characteristics and high reliability even under most hostile conditions.

To survive under rough maritime climate and to maintain their reliability in both tropical and arctic areas, the products must have special qualities beside to be resistant to sea-water and therefore AS Hydranor required very high standards on its products from the very beginning.

Based on experience AS Hydranor developed in 1988 complete valve units based on module system. The equipment is delivered ready for installations in customer's machinery.

Most of the components are delivered in up to 8 sizes with capacity up to 1000 l/min.

To complete the valve programme further the exclusive right to sell the well known American cartridge valves SUN was obtained in 1988.

Due to demands on international standardization a series of ISO standardized components was introduced in 1992.
